Automatic Message Printing |
If your application server can see printers across your network, you can use Automatic Message Printing to automatically print message reports to specific printers when certain events occur.
To set up message printing:
Step 1. On the System Mgmt -> Setup -> Printers -> Standard Printer Types screen, define standard printer types for all printers you want to define as message printers.
Step. 2. On the System Mgmt -> Setup -> Printers -> Printer Devices/Queues screen, define the printers to use for automatic message printing.
Step. 3. Associate the printers with the location or department (or departments) that should receive the printed messages. To do this, use the Message Printer tabs on the Data -> Setup -> Organization Structure -> Departments -> Primary Information and/or Data -> Setup -> Organization Structure -> Locations -> Primary Information screens. (Departments can have multiple message printers; locations can have only one.)
Step. 4. Verify that the application has access to the messages printer (or printers).
