Transaction records specify whether to insert a new record or to modify or delete an existing one. Each transaction record includes fields that specify the type of action to be performed (insert/modify/delete); the type of records to be modified; number of data items in the transaction record; and, in cases of insert and modify transactions, the new data value being entered and the specific fields into which data is being entered (or modified).
